DS basement light wiring

Hi - I seem to remember that back about a year ago there was a post on how the basement lights should be properly wired so that the door switches actually work. My current situation is that with the switch next to the passenger seat turned on, all the basement lights come on without regard to whether any doors are open or closed. What I am remembering is that someone found a way to find out what was mis-wired at the factory so that the switches acted like switches. Thanks to anyone who remembers that post or it's contents. I hate rediscovering the wheel!

Hi Stuart - Thanks. I'm impressed by how quick that was! The sun will be going down here soon but tomorrow I will follow your instructions. I'll do my best to keep your batting average at one hundred percent.
Thanks again.

In my case it is the position of one of the door switches that causes the all on issue.

I had the same problem and followed Stuart's instructions to identify the cause. One of my switch mounting brackets was loose and had a broken screw (1 of 2 screws attaching the bracket) once corrected, they have worked fine.

Hi Stuart - Well you are still batting a thousand! Worked terrific and took all of 6 minutes. Just one of those things I never could find the time for before but thanks to your research it's all set. Thanks again.

Now if they can fix the wet bay leak from the tires kicking up the rain on the road and make my front section of the heated floor work properly, I'll be all set.

Your welcome, I’m battling the water from the wheels on both the pegboard and wet bay, I have been told that rubberized undercoating is the cure, I’ll be doing that soon, my problem in so cal not much rain to test with.
Your front floor isn’t heating?

Hi - Don't want to go off topic here but I have an appointment next month for Freedom Rv to assess the water leak and fix it. Same issue as far as the weather as we are in Tucson for the next few months.

The front section of the heated floors has gone into limp mode, it will just barely take the chill off the floor but in no way is it warm. I opened the KIB box in the rear closet and I have a red led lit next to front floor heat. Don't know if it is a communication issue or hardware malfunction. Tried one of the other switch panels and no joy. The relay clicks so that's OK. I plan to call KIB next week and see what they say. Of course the warranty ran out last month.
