DS steerinmg wheel does not "tilt"

The cable attached to the foot pedal (to the left of the steering wheel) which allows the wheel to be adjusted broke and the wheel remains in the upright position. We are on the road so repairs will have to be delayed until later. Is this a Newmar issue or Freightliner. Can it been "jury rigged" on the road?

It's freightliner issue. Have no idea on fix but you should be able to grab the cable and move the wheel.
