Must be the day for slides, my 1999 DSDP has one slide. Today it failed to go out all the way and then would not come back in. We were able to push it out manually and back in manually as well. The motor runs but it must be slipping some where, where is the motor and drive mechanism located and what is the access point?

Look in th storage compartment under the slide. If a bedroom slide, look under the bed.

My 99 had motor and cog wheels and shafts under slide in compartments below slide.
If you look at the other slide problem below you will see control units, yours should be in kitchen cabinet or wall cabinet on bathroom wall next to slide.
If you look at the shafts you will see slots in them that has a allen screw screwed into the slots. Your age of coach may have one broken or loose and has come out of slot.
The cog wheels also have locking screws that may come loose. Your motor is turning you said so I would have someone operate switch and observe what is turning and what is not. the whole shaft both sides of motor turns together as one.
Once we find problem wax your slide walls and check to see if your slide awning is not binding up causing strain on slide movement.
Let us know what you find.

Fixed, there are slip joints on the shaft..snugged one up after watching where it was slipping and works. I will get my local rv place to check the torque on the nuts and find out how much and where to lube the slide so perhaps will not happen again. Thanks everyone you people are great.

Check the slipjoints the inside sleeve can sometimes break and is a bear to fix. Don't lube at the slipjoints, friction is what makes them work.
