DSDP vs. VTDP Entry Steps
We have looked at both newer DSDPs & VTDPs. In specific we are considering a 2014-2016 VTDP 4369 in our search. However, one thing I have heard was that there was a difference in them when it comes to rise height and perhaps tread width.
Could any VTDP 4369 owners measure the height and depth of their stairs? If any DSDP 4369 owners want to chime in...GREAT!
Thanks!

I would like to add one more request. Can you measure the distance from the top retractable stair to the landing inside the coach?

Don,
The heigth of my 2 steps are 10”each and the depth is 10”. Are you attending the International in Gillette?

I have a friend with a 2015 DSDP, 4369. Their top step is taller than the rest and IMHO is quite a step up.

there may have been a change here somewhere between 2016 and 2018.....not sure....
but my buddies 2016 VTDP has two steps outside, and two steps inside....the inside steps are tall steps.....
my DSDP has two steps outside and three inside...much smaller steps....total distance traveled about the same, and the outside steps are the same...steps in my DSDP are shorter in height and of course narrower in tread...
first off, the step well cover on the two coaches is different, and that matters....i have storage under my steps, and the 2016 VTDP does not have it....
second, i think there was a design change for the VTDP somewhere there..maybe in 2017....
so make sure you are comparing apples to apples for model year....

Thanks and unfortunately no.
I had to cancel both the FT rally and the international because I tore a bicep tendon and will have surgery on Wednesday to fix it. I need a minimum of 4 weeks to even think about being travel ready and that just is too much to push things. The good news is that I was in my "home turf" of family and friends instead of out in the middle of no where when this became necessary.
BUMMER! We had are trip to route us via Steinbring RV and then keep options open after the rallies to see if a good used coach came out of the events.
We plan to see you and our many Newmar friends next year.

BTW...My first coach step is 9.5" rise and 10" tread from the landing. The second step is 10.5" rise and 10" tread.
The retractable steps are about a 7-8" rise each.
I guess the VTDP isn't a "step up" from us. (BOOOOO...bad pun!)

Sorry to hear about your torn bicep. Wishing you a fast recovery. Look forward to seeing you next year as we sit in a 2020 VTDP and visit as we did last year at Sedalia.
