Dustshield installation at Hoots 2016 by Brooks

Greetings.
A question for those who had the dust shield installed by Brooks at the Kerrville Rally. Have any of you had issues at a Freightliner service Center? I had to have my fan clutch replaced in July and the service center called Freightliner about the after market shield. Freightliner told them to remove it and NOT replace it. I was one month out of warranty and had just left Gaffney for the yearly PM and driven about 300 miles when the overheating problem started. So after some discussions with Freightliner they agreed to provide the fan clutch replacement at no charge (although it was $800 in labor to install). So did not argue about not replacing shield. Very disappointed in Gaffney for not identifying problem while in for PM. I felt the service technician I got was not of the caliber I would expect. Unsure if I will return to Gaffney for service or not.

My question has anyone had issues with this shield? Freightliner stated that it was to restrictive of air movement and was in part responsible for the fan clutch failure at 20K miles. Now I learn that they are selling a "Freightliner Dust Shield". Does it differ from the one Brooks designed? Questioning if I should re-install or not? Loved not having the mess when driving thru campground!

Thoughts???
Thanks

My fan clutch was replaced on my old 2014 Mountain Aire at 18 months and I did not have a dust shield. Just Freightliner BS. It is a Horton clutch. Lots of info under "fan speed" just search.
