Our '07 DSDP 4023 was an early model for that year which had the registers in the floor for the furnace. Not much later in the same model year Newmar switched to the vents being off the floor. We have actually broken several of the registers just from walking on them.

We never used the furnace as we have space heaters, along with the overhead heat pumps. Our floor installer said that he could remove the registers or at least hide them. He told us that he would install "inspection ports" over the holes that would allow us access if we ever wanted to use the furnace. We were just glad to see the registers gone.

The pics below show how we change from having dirt & hair catchers to a nice smooth floor. Now you see 'em, now you don't!

You do good work Neil & Annie the dog likes the new floor too.
The plastic registers have been changed to metal adjustable ones in my coach.
Some young ladies high heal broke through a plastic one.
We will post in QT's number 3.

Beautiful looking floor, congrats. Did you keep the same slide rollers? Are you concern about the rollers leaving a mark on the wood floor? Did you have to make any slide adjustments after? Sorry for all the questions but I think a lot of us would like to do something with our carpet covered floors. Thank you very much for the pics and information. It will help a lot.

Tyka, Yes we kept the same rollers and no adjustments to the slide were made. The rollers haven't made any marks, and the floor seems to be doing just fine.

Please feel free to ask all the questions you like. We will answer them to the best of our ability and if we don't know the answer - we will make one up!

very nice

I read in some other posts that you had to keep carpet on the driver's side pull-out and some also where the joint joins the main floor - how did you manage to have this flush - congrats

Nice looking flooring, great job. Are your slide rollers the wide (6") white ones ?

Renden - No you don't have to keep carpet on the slide. We started with stair nose, which gives a great finished look, and then tied the floor to it. However with that the slide is not quite flat anymore. The floor on the slide is now actually raised up a little under an inch over the main floor. This is why we used the stair nose since it has a rounded edge. Even with carpet the slide was never truly flat, it was alway higher than the main floor. This was really the only way we found to get the carpet off the slide.

HDBiker Dave - Our rollers are grey and about 8 to 10 inches wide. There are 4 of them on the drivers slide.

I was very blessed to be the installer/creator on this project. I thank you for the opportunity for being able to create a special floor for you. Ernie Ekberg-

Thank you Ernie the floor is wonderful.

The reason I didn't mention you by name as the installer is I wasn't sure on the forum rules about promoting people/products vs. spamming rules. Now i can say ERNIE EKBERG DID MY FLOORS.

Thanks again.
