Dutch Star 2016 - a few questions

So after much back and forth, settling on a 2016 Dutch Star 3726. The new hydraulic FWS seems to work great with the all tile floor and the footprint is perfect for us. Just have a few questions to put out to the experts on this Forum.

1. The standard sink is a SS one bowl as shown in pictures, but Newmar has an option for a double bowl solid surface sink (6K043) so the question is it really a double bowl solid surface since it seems like there is not enough space for a two bowls? Does anyone have any pictures of what the double solid surface sink looks like?

2. The standard awning is a Girard G2000, is that just in the front part of the coach and the option is to add an additional one (6T220) to cover the back half? Does anyone have any pictures of the standard awning? What is the benefits of the option for the Girard Nova Side awnings (6T500) beside the wind sensor? I get the benefit of the second awning but is the Nova that much better than the G2000?

Thanks for the input, building my order sheet as we speak

Here's a photo of the double sink. The second sink is quite small and shallow. We went with the single, stainless sink after seeing this. My wife originally wanted the double, but now is glad we did not get it. The stainless is larger and deeper. Makes it easier to wash larger dishes, pots and pans. The solid surface is also porous, so stains easily (don't wash pasta dishes in there!). It can be cleaned, but is more difficult.

You won't be restricted to selecting from the 2 kitchen sinks on the Dutch Star order sheet. You can special order from any of the other models except for perhaps the King Aire, not sure they will let you put that in the Dutch Star.

My wife really liked the stainless sink we had in our previous coach so we special ordered the double stainless from then Ventana LE line.

There was recently a thread about the various awnings on this site within the last month with a large number of replies which you should be able to find. We went for the two Novas and would do it again in a heartbeat. It is fairly expensive but not so bad when you calculate in your purchase discount. The Novas offer greater shade coverage and they seem to handle the wind and ran better than our previous "flat" awnings. If the extra cost is not a deal breaker, you will be glad you went with the Novas.

Tom,

Thanks, I was able to find info you were talking about and see them on different web sites, so I think we will go with the Double Nova, much harder to add on later and we do want to spend a far amount of time out west.

X2 on the double stainless from the Ventana line! We love it. The "Special" charge was $210 on our 2016.

We had single stainless sink last year. It was large but we missed having 2 sinks like most of us have at home. More practical for daily duty with 2 bowls.

We had a solid surface back in 2011. Have not ordered another one since. Very difficult to clean as previously mentioned.

Good Luck

the wife felt the single sink to large but the doubles to small. ended up going with the single stainless. there was a bit of surface rust beginning. i used some flitz and it has not reappeared.

something to keep in mind if looking at 2016's, if it has two sofas pull them both out at the same time. we didnt and found out after we bought it that they overlap. what a stupid design. asked the sales guy prior to buying and he said they would touch. took his word for it. he wasnt lying,he just didnt know. we are now waiting for a replacement sofa to come in. coach is unusable with our kids until the replacement is done.
