Dutch Star 4018 appliance garage

I will be picking up my new 4018 in a few weeks. I am looking to put a coffee maker (maybe a Kuerig) in the appliance garage on the kitchen counter. Would someone please measure the opening to the garrage. Thanks in advance.

I have a single cup Keurig and a full coffee pot brewing system...neither one will fit and operate in the "appliance garage" we have. I do store them in the "appliance garage" but have to take them out to operate. I will measure when I get back to the coach.

Thanks, I was thinking about getting the K-Cafe Keurig and the height of it is 12.5". It would be nice to slide in to garage for travel and pull out for use. It's about 14.5" wide and 12" deep.

Here you go …

  • Width of Opening - 15 1/2"
  • Height of Opening - 11 3/8"

I had to smile as I read the posts. The garage door height on our 07 Essex is probably about 1" shorter than the shortest 12 cup coffeemaker. It was just enough to be annoying. Tired of tilting the coffee maker to get it in and out of the garage, we started using a 5 cup coffee maker that slides in and out with ease.

I'm no longer calling that cupboard an "appliance garage." It has become my banana storage area. That's about all that fits in there. And while I am whining, in my new 2019 Dutchstar 4018 the right edge of the cupboard has beautiful wood. HOWEVER that wood is right behind the faucet handle. It gets wet and splashed on. Would have been more practical for that area to be in tile.

I see a service modification in my future. Maybe it could have been be a "special" before delivery?

We don't drink coffee, so as a "special" we deleted the garage when we ordered.

Maybe in the future, the height of the opening could be increased as a "special" and a different door added if the roll up won't work with the new height.

The faucet base could be loosened and then rotated to a different position. The tightening mechanism will be under the counter and difficult to get to, but it is possible. I think the handle should be over the sink rather than than the counter. Wet hands...

Could you possibly post a photo of your counter area without the Appliance garage. I'm wondering if you still got the electrical appliance on the wall.

No electrical plug. Maybe if there was no big window you can have the plug.

There are 2 plugs under the cabs 1 on each side of the induction cook top.

I also added a plug just to the left of the counter top and to the right of the televator.
