Dutch Star Drive By

Was driving I-12 heading west and seen a nice DS heading east at around 4:45 pm in close proximity to Hammond La. What I would like to know if it is someone on this forum and if it is would love to find out what type of matching cargo trailer were they pulling. It was one nice setup. But also would like to know how hard is it to camp pulling a cargo trailer and having the space to back it in. Or do they pull a vehicle out and maneuver cargo trailer?

Thanks David

We came through there about that time. Our trailer is not striped to match the coach but is the same colors.

To answer your question... We have been towing the trailer about a year now with no real issues. We try to call ahead to RV parks to make sure they know how long we are. When possible we get the longest pull through available, 65 feet minimum, 80 feet preferred .

Sometimes we need to unhook the trailer. Most of the time it gets parked in a place that we can drop it with the motorhome but once in a while we drop it and someone from the RV Park moves it with a tractor or truck.

We have never had a situation where we were turned away or had to leave because we did not fit.

Thanks for the reply. Did you have the trailer painted or manufacturer of trailer painted? One last question what length trailer do you have? We have a Rzr, 2 a tv's and dirt bike for national forest camping/dry camping and other times we will pull golf cart and bicycles.

Thanks for your time
David

This is some of the things we try to take with us and with an open trailer we have had gas and yeti coolers stolen while trail riding etc.

We opted for a stacker. Everything inside and out of the weather and sight.

Pulls very well and we average 7.5 mpg.

This is our setup.
Trailer is only 18 feet plus a 3 foot V-nose.
We put a MiniCooper and a Golf Cart in there but just barely fits.

No, I had it built this way. The panels are actually standard aluminum sheet colors, burgundy and dark grey. Our manufacturer just skinned it with the alum and screwed a trim piece between the colors.

Our trailer was built for us in Douglas, GA. There are a bunch of trailer builders in that area. Also a bunch in the Elkhart, IN area.

The trailer is average quality (not a Featherlite by any means), and we optioned up a few things to make it a little nicer. As I recall, total price around 6 or 7 thousand.
