Not "shoddy workmanship" at all. Lots of people don't realize that the outlet swivels down. It was designed that way and doesn't require any tools either.

Dang, I've fought with mine for 2 years and bought 2 different tight radius 90's trying to get something to work and never did. Just stumbled on this thread. Now I need to go to storage and try it! Thanks guys!

I have a Rhino 90 and it is a real pain to get it in,I had to grind off a couple of the nus to get it to fit and even then it's not easy. Based on this thread, I went to Camping World today and compared the Rhino with the Valterra- The Valterra looks like about 1/4" shorter, so it may work- I bought one and when I get the coach back from the dealer next week, I'll check it out.

I ordered the Valterra fitting off Amazon. It is definitely more compact, so I put it on my DS 4018 today. It looks perfect! I'll be trying it out this weekend but it's so much smaller than the Rhino fitting it should really do the trick and avoid the skinned knuckles!

I thought that it swiveled just because of the mating surfaces seal with rubber sealing ring. Interesting.

I wonder why someone doesnt engineer a better method to hook up sewer hoses(having to reach under your coach, down on your knees, to pull in a sewer hose to connect seems a little old school) - why not elongate the sewer hose entry 'hole' in the bay to be much more of a gym clip shape, bringing it from back under the outlet and all the way close to the door edge. A rubber flap, like that under some FW slides, would provide a much larger, easier, and more convenient entry for your hose, sealing around it, without the need for a floor plate screw cover...
there has to be a better way!

My system (02 DS) fits best if I tilt the coach drain down and use a 45 degree clear elbow rather than a 90.

Tried the new Valterra and it doesn't fit either. It hits the ring on the hole. Back to the Rhino.

If it is hitting at the back I would think you could swivel the whole sewer outlet up and have room. The black pipe moves up and down.

The 45 deg. is the best fit.

Nope- it hits at the front. The hole is positioned too close to the drain. I've made due with hooking up with a Rhino ( with the nubs ground off) and have it at an acute angle to the bay floor. The Rhino works as you can rotate the connector part after it's inserted in the hole. It works but just a pain to get it hooked up and its just another example of the shoddy workmanship I've observed on our coach.

They are all in the exact same location. I use the shorter Rino elbow without grinding any nubs off. I put it up from the bottom with the hose attached.

I think if I ever order again, I will have them move the hole 1 inch further out.

Try a 45 deg adaptor and your problem is solved.
