Dutch Star Slide Procedure

What is the "approved" procedure for extending the FWS on a 2015 Dutch Star? The manual states that the leveling jacks be extended prior to operating the slide. However, numerous postings, on this site, say that this is not necessary and some note that there is an advantage to extend BEFORE extending the leveling jacks. On previous RV's, that we have had with slides, the procedure was to level the RV and determine that the site was level enough to actually extend the slide. It would appear that the larger slides (FWS) need a more stable, level RV before extending the slide.

Here is the memo form Newmar on that subject. It is from Newmar dated 1/29/15 as a PIB (Product Information Bulletin).

Here is a thread on the FWS operation.
The reveal spacing is what needs to be checked.
This could be the result if not checked.
