Battery Disconnect Solenoid Switch?
Can't locate the Intellitec Battery Disconnect Solenoid Switch in my 2004 DutchStar motorhome (model DSDP3812). Can anyone lead me to it. Also the red light in the Intellitec Battery Disconnect Panel (model BD1) does not go completely out (it dims only) in the "store" mode. Have any of you had the same problem?

DutchStar Battery Disconnect Switch

When I described the location of the disconnect relay in my 99 Dutch Star to an owner of a newer coach , and sent a picture of it on the back wall of the power cord bay, he said they must have moved everything that was in the picture, then he got back to me and said that Newmar had added a closure panel across the back of the power bay that had to be removed to access the solenoid and a bunch of other wiring and fuses. Can't remember his coaches year, but if the back wall of your power bay has screws in each corner , good chance it has to be removed for access.

The panel Skip is talking about may look like this when removed.
You see disconnect solenoid and Bird or B.M.I..
The red led dim may indicate low battery voltage, house batteries.
Had a coach with low house batteries, because never charged, over winter plus the BCO would not operate the disconnect solenoid with dim light.
Not saying its your problem but when ever you have coach plugged in always have the BCO on so the Bird or B.M.I. can maintain all your batteries, house and chassis, for a full charge.

The panel is held on with velcro.

Yes, just pull to remove. Then you will see the BIRD relay and Solenoid. Note the two fuses on the Disconnect Solenoid.

It sounds like the circuit board behind the switch panel is bad. You might be able to track the location by sound if they still click on and off. The solenoids look like one of these, most common is the one in the upper left. The arrows are pointing to the two lugs that the battery power flows through. If you wish to by-pass a non-working switch, put both heavy wires on one lug.

I think I just posted this earlier. It is located in your electrical bay behind a black panel held in place with Velcro Strips. Give a tug on the panel to remove and gain access to the solenoids and BIRD Relay. Note the two fuses on the Disconnect Solenoid.

Thanks to everyone. I will take a look tomorrow to verify if there is a false back on the electrical bay. When I looked there I never thought to really view behind the cord reel.
Will let you know what I find.

If when replacing and moving battery location the ground wire gets tied to the frame, that will keep the red light on, know this from experience.

WAGM what do you mean "the ground wire gets tied to the frame"? Do you mean it gets shorted to the frame or something else?

Not sure what he means either because the ground cable is ground in your battery system and the frame is ground also.
If its necessary to work or disconnect battery leads remove the slide fuses or the 12v plug on the slide control board you do not need the slides suddenly moving out if they are locked.
If you work on batteries remove the ground negative cable first than the positive cables off the batteries.
Reconnecting the batteries connect the positive cables first than your negative cable to battery.
