'E1' loss of communications
System Reset
• Make sure the CCC 2 thermostat is in the OFF mode.
• Simultaneously press the ZONE and MODE buttons.
The LCD will display “IniT” and all available zones.
• Release the ZONE and MODE buttons.
• Press the OFF button

MarinaBoy - Trying to reset the thermostat will not fix the problem. According to the manual the E1 error is a loss of communications between the thermostat and the AC unit. Your problem is with the connectors on the cable between the thermostat and the AC unit. The cable is a mere telephone wire using cheap RJ45 phone connectors, which are prone to failure. Using electronic contact cleaner and reinserting them several times (this creates a wipping action) will restore the "communcations link" resolving the E1 error code. This is a real chore, since the telephone wire goes through an inline connector hidden inside the A/C plenium. Basically the shroud must be removed and the plenium must be taken apart. All connections between the thermostat and the control board on the A/C unit must be cleaned and reinserted. You need to have some mechanical abilities to tackle this problem. If not, call a mobile RV Tech.

Best Regards

We had the same problem on our previous Bay Star. Go through the above procedure after cutting the 12v with the battery switch for 15 min. After using the re-set procedure only bring zone 1 back up first. Let it run for 20-30 minutes then bring zone 2 back on line. If you bring both zones on at the beginning it loses communication again.
