I think I got everything possible except the auto locking arms which I don't quite understand. Added extras too such as a 32" TV across from the kitchen like in the Essex, auto generator start, component cables to TV's, auto hose roller and a few other small items.

I have two small children ages 4 & 5. I own a camp-resort in the Rochester/Buffalo area. I'm in a '04 Fleetwood Discovery POS now. I made every mistake buying it but, this time I was very thorough. Every bit of research kept pointing to Newmar or Tiffin but, almost all agreed the Spartan Chassis is the current leader w/Roadmaster a close second.

Dealer is getting sick of me calling him. Funny, he wouldn't quit calling me before the sale was done

Is the factory tour worth it?

WELCOME to iRV2 and the Newmar Owners Forum!!

Scott, the TV in the Essex is a 40" flat now...

The Newmar factory tour,if you've never done a tour is a decent tour as it gives you a behind the scenes look at how the units are constructed...You'll see chassis with floors already on them and they will be adding walls and ceilings to those units...You'll see coaches BEFORE they go to paint and then after they come out of paint, but Newmar no longer allows the tour to visit the paint shop...

Sounds like to me that factory delivery, even with the added cost this year, is still going to be worth every penny as they stay with you several days and work the bugs out. While my PDI was indeed several hours long,by having several days to PDI the coach you get the chance to have some issues ironed out that seem to develop after a day or so..

When I get my next Newmar it'll most likely be by factory delivery....

Congrats on the new coach and let's hear more from you...

Welcome to the Newmar Forum and to irv2
Thanks for your first post in this forum and congratulations on your new DSDP 4304.
Your too excited waiting on your new coach plenty of time for the tour, enjoy the forum and all the forums on irv2. If you have any questions just fire away plenty of people have bought new Newmars this summer season so things should be fresh in their minds.
We can make you a Newmar Forum member with some KAMRA and post your coach and chassis info in your signature profile block when you get it all together.

RE: TV - I meant location of TV. Wasn't sure how to describe it. Essex was the first I had seen in that location for 2005. But, thanks for pointing out that yours is bigger than mine.

Javajelly, welcome. Sorry, we are only talking spec's. The midship TV is a nice feature. It adds so much more two people room by allowing the driver and passenger chairs to be useful in enjoying a TV show or movie.

We deleted all of the factory TVs except the one over dash and are installing our own for a total of FIVE(two 32" one midship and one bedroom with two 27" one in garage and one entertainment center) on the ATME!

Lug_Nut - No need to apologize. I'm just jabbing rebel.

Dav - I thought I was going overboard w/4 TVs. BTW, I am putting my own TV at Midship (thanks for the proper description).

Please forgive but, what is ATME?

Had to have the one in garage(second bedroom) for quests! We will probably have more outside during Nascar(usually three). ATME is the Newmar AllStar with garage FP #4153. Had to stay at a Holdiay Inn last week waiting for the coach.

That one kind of got me too. The Newmar AllStar should be ASDM or ASMD. But keeping with the protocall ASDM would be correct.
ie: KSDP, DSDP, MADP, EXDP, LADP and ASDM

Actually the "ME" denotes mid-engine,but I haven't figured out that AT yet...

Maybe someone should call Darla and ask her....since she's the Newmar image consultant...
