Love it! I have an Echo Spot in the bathroom and Echo Show on the kitchen counter. I had one in the bedroom and removed it. I’ll have to reconsider. I probably have 20 of these critters between home, office, and RV. Love them.

I have a Google Assistant, similar to the Echo but different. My question is this, most campgrounds I've stayed at have a password for their WiFi and I've tired, unsuccessfully to pair the Google Assistant with the camp's wifi.
If it's not too much trouble please let me know how you're able to get wifi to the Echo.

This brings up another question which I'll ask but maybe not the correct location for an answer.

Directv needs to be hooked up to WiFi to get the "On Demand" channels (For those who aren't familiar with this, it allows you to retrieve shows that you may have missed or in many cases past season after season of your favorite TV shows)

I've tried unsuccessfully to pair my Directv box with park generated WiFi so, if you have the answer I'm all ears.

Thanks
Larry

Larry,

The VERY short answer is STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING!

The last device I would ever want sitting on a public network is an Alexa, Google, or any home automation hub/device!!

For a really good explanation of this, please look up David Bott’s video in YouTube about the importance of having your OWN network.

I know Neal will explain even further, but what simply put...

You should have your own WiFi AP/Router with your own, private network for your coach. It is this Router ONLY that accesses the public WiFi network at CGs or elsewhere.

ALL devices in your coach should then connect SOLELY to your private network.

Not only is this more secure, it also keeps your sanity by not needing to sign every device into a new network every single time you change!

Bottom line, as you will see David demonstrate, is take a look at all the WiFi devices available next time you are on a public network. You’ll see everyone else’s TV, iPad, iPhone, AppleTV, Fire, etc etc etc...and you certain don’t want someone connecting to YOUR tv...unless you like surprises!

For more in depth discussions, you’ll find threads such as Internet for Dummies under way.

Hope this helps.

We are in the Google camp and have a "Home" in our bedroom. It and everything else that is internet connected is connected to our WiFi Ranger so we never have to worry about connecting all the devices again. I have an unlimited hot spot for internet so we rarely change to campground internet. We use it mostly for alarms, podcasts, news CNN & MSNBC, and weather. In our S&B home we also have Google products. The broadcast feature is cool, using the phone app I can broadcast messages to either the coach or house. One last cool feature, it will make calls. LOL where is my phone, it calls it.

We have a Show and a Dot -- all on private network with WiFi Ranger. But any Access Point and router will work, just like home, never put your equipment directly on any public network.
