Electric BBQ grill
Since we have an all electric coach, I ditched the gas grill and bought an electric one. It is a MECO Aussie grill. It has worked fine for a year or so, but last week down in the keys, it would trip the GFI when turned on. I tried it in multiple outlets back at home and in the campground with the same results. Needless to say, I am not impressed with the longevity of the unit. Do any of you have recommendations for a good electric grill ?

A slight possibility that a GFI is weak and trips easy. Is there a loose wire in your grill?

If the electric element is not thoroughly clean all the way from where it gets hot back to where the wiring enters the element I would first try cleaning any/all oils and greases off it. OF COURSE WITH IT NOT PLUGGED IN. MAYBE there is enough contamination on the element or somewhere else to allow a slight leakage current to ground causing the GFI to trip. The element needs to be thoroughly dry after cleaning or the moisture could also cause the GFI to trip. Worth trying.

Nope-- tried it on several GFI outlets that have no issues with other stuff. No exposed wires on the grill that are loose.

It's clean-- just trips the GFI-- looking for a replacement that has a good track record

The element maybe shorted like a heating element can short in gas-electric fridge.
I have had good luck with George Forman grills for years and they come in different sizes.

Have you looked into the Weber Q series grills which comes in different sizes and are available in gas and electric. I prefer my Q200 gas in the RV over the larger Wolf grill that I have at home.
