Angry Electric Door Locks

I have a 2017 DS 4369, went to check on it after a couple months in storage. The key fob will not unlock the front door. I am guessing a dead battery. Unfortunelty, the door keys are inside the RV. (Real dumb mistake!!) Does anyone know where the battery terminals are for the door locks? Do you think a normal lock smith could unlock the door?

Power is come the chassis batteries. First check, battery disconnect and battery voltage. Check key fob battery as well

Our key fob stopped working and we too thought it was due to battery but then the second fob didn't work either. We had Newmar look at it when at Tampa rally and it was the door contacts that needed adjusting. They tweaked them and key fobs work fine now. This info won't help you get the door unlocked, but it might help with the key fob problem ☺

On our 2015 DS 4369 I believe, if you lock the door with the keypad, you can not unlock it with the key. The key controls the dead bolt.

Is your chassis battery door locked. If it is lay on the ground and scoot in and look up at the inside lock, push on cable to unlock door. Check battery voltage with a volt meter , should see about 12.6 volts if not turn on disconnect switch. You might have to charge chassis battery. Does your coach battery door open, do the same with that door. Put jumper cables on coach battery, be careful , read diagram , call Newmar tech hotline they will walk you thru it. .. moral of story is when you get inside coach put the 3 door keys on your key ring. When you jump coach battery try your keyphob again. Good luck

So is it the coach batteries or the chassis batteries that power the locks?

Coach battery’s but call Newmar for them to walk you thru the jump procedure, jumping red and black wires on coach battery’s. Measure battery voltage. They are probably dead and need to be charged. Jumping it will a lot you to enter coach to retrieve keys

If the battery disconnect switch inside the coach is in the disconnect position, will this still work?

Turn ON disconnect, measure for 12.6 volts. If ok they’re good. Did you open coach battery door, and pull out battery tray, measure for 12.6 volts, if you don’t have and voltage them you have to jump or charge battery’s . Then you can use keyphob to open door. I went to the same thing 2 moths ago when it was 10 degrees with 25 mph wind. I had shut it off wrong while coach was at Freightliner dealer. You must completely shut it down fully. Turn off main disconnect to OFF. Inside coach flip switch to turn OFF main disconnect. Turn off inverter, turn OFF charger

I think another guy turned off the chassis battery and shat the door.
Than he was stuck. Could not open any doors. Make sure you know what is going on.

I was going to get a new controller for my electric locks - makes me think twice about it now. Sorry about your situation.

Power for the keyphobs to let door open comes from coach battery’s. They must be dead. Somebody did not shut coach down correctly completely . ....when you get door to open find other door keys then you won’t have to go thru this again
