Electrical/battery issues

I tagged along on a thread, and was told to start my own, so here it is probably heard this a million times. We have a '95 Mountain Aire we just purchased. This is our problem.

Sunday plugged into 110v to house and turned on refrigerator, went out Monday evening, refrigerator is off, and no batteries. Just bought new batteries last week. Checked the extension cord, and there is power to the cord.

1. What could our problem be?
2. Also can someone explain when the inverter should be ON and when should it by OFF. We have a Heart Interface Freedom 20 charger.

The owners man. is here. http://www.xantrex.com/documents/Dis...ner_manual.pdf
Which remote panel do you have? The Freedom or Link? see page 6.
Power Switch info page 7. Do you have a battery voltage meter in the coatch? you can watch it to see charging. or watch the LEDs on the remote panels.

cruisismap,,,we bought a winnie elandan 86 model. like you I just pluged in the house but kept knocking the power off in the breaker box. after doing research on my power. most of your breakers in 110 is 20 amp which is not enough power to pull you tv in house plus your light in the living room all at the same time plus a frig in your camper , my motor home has a 30 amp.. I put in a 30 amp breaker in my electric box out side just for the motor home. I can run ever thing in the coach just like the camp ground.. I put a 30 amp plug box so I could plug the shore line in with out useing a drop cord.... check your power to your coach....

We have the Freedom remote panel, and yes have a voltage meter as well.

When should the inverter by ON and when should it be OFF, we are confused about this.

I have the exact same 86 Elandan and I just plug into a 15amp outlet in my garage and can run everything but the air.

Your inverter/converter should be on all the time.
Some 110 outlets are direct of inverter and some are directly wired from your load center.
Here is a bunch of stuff that maybe of interest to you.

The power sw on the big black box should be off . The invert function should only be in use when no shore or gen power is available and you desire the inverters AC power. The Charge function should work when you are on shore power.
Read and try to understand the remote info on page 28. I have the Link panel and it is different.
Check the position of dip sw 4 and its function.

The manual for my Freedom 20 clearly says, if you have a remote than the power switch on the inverter needs to be OFF use the switch on the remote to turn on the inverter.

Here is a link to our manual for the Freedom 20
