We've had a couple of ferocious rains lately in FL and I have developed a leak in my Emergency Exit door in the back bath on my 2016 MADP. It's not a crisis, and I am sure I can fix it, but it is enough to puddle on the floor of the bathroom. Just curious if others have encountered this issue.

You may want to check the window in the door. There has been an issue of the window coming loose on some units.

I believe some have reported glass de-lamination

I have had this problem and have determined it is that the door does not close tightly enough at the top and water is able to run down onto the top of the door and makes its way down. It does not happen every time, it it has happened on occasion. I was able to prove the leak source with a watering can and DW on the inside while I tried different areas.

Right now, my plan is to add a strip of window gasket to the top of the door where it comes in contact with the frame. I am hoping this will fix it. I have purchased the self stick gasket but need to get it in place.

Would be curious if you have the same issue.

Thanks All. I plan to use a window gasket as well, so we will see if that seals it up. After that next step will be to fashion some type of gutter/diversion over the top of the door.

Ok. Latest update - It is in fact the door and not the window. There is a good 3/4" gap at the top of the door, and this has apparently been going on for some while now. The inside panels of the door are all soaked and will no doubt need to be replaced. As we are leaving tomorrow on a month-long trip no time to get it properly repaired, so I stuffed some 1/2" nylon rope into the gap and the covered with flex seal tape. Conveniently. the upper part of the door is black so it's not really noticeable.

Pretty awful workmanship to leave that kind of gap. We always have the night shade down and didn't see it until it became a real problem.

Those with similar emergency doors would do well to check them from time to time.

I chuckled when I read this. In one of his videos, Chris from Mount Comfort RV said that Newmar says this door is designed for "emergency use only". I'm sure Newmar knows that most of us use them to help load and unload our RVs but technically they are not designed for that. I don't know if you're one of us but it is a contributing factor.
