Emergency Start Switch

Well we made it back from Alaska last week & it was a great trip. I think I have my batteries straightened out. Now I have another problem, I think I burnt my emergency cellinoide out, because when I push the boost start switch nothing happens. I checked for voltge at the cellinoide and before my wife pressed the start switch, I had 3.4 volts at the small terminal on the cellinoide. When she pressed the start switch I had 13.7 volts. Why would I have 3.4 volts standing at that termimal? Do I check across the 2 small terminal's to check for continuity ?

The 13.7 you are reading is coming from your house batteries. The 3.4 may be through the cooked coil from chassis battery. If you hear no click when wife pressing the button I'd say you need a new coil.
