Update
OK, we went for our shakedown/test everything cruise this morning. Had a few things to test out:
1: See if the dash air still worked. All the resent threads about dash air had me wondering if our still worked. Last time I used it was sometime last year, maybe, not sure.
2: We replaced our alternator just as we got into this park and haven't moved since.
3: See if I caused any over heating by putting the custom filler panel in.
I'm happy to report everything is working perfectly. Alternator produced nice quiet power, the old one squealed from day one. The dash AC about froze us out, I keep it on max AC and high fan the whole trip.
Here's the time line, temps and where we were driving. Ignore the date and time on the dash readout, apparently I need to reset them. The correct time is on the lower right corner of the GPS screen.
I put an arrow to show the engine temp on my iPad. While filling up I changed the screen layout. You can also see the intake manifold temp. Outside temp is on the dash display.
I35 headed north 86 degrees:
I35 headed south 90 degrees:
City stop and go 100 degrees
It made absolutely no change from before. My low was always 176 and the high was always 187, today was no different. I have, so far, never seen this coach above 187. The 3,000 mile round trip for Hoots will be a great test.

iPad Connection?
Hey John,
Pardon me if you explained this in an earlier post, but where/how do you plug in an iPad and get all that information on your chassis?
Thanks,
Ron

I'm using Silverleaf's VMS with wifi jib. I can have it on a laptop, my phone or my iPad. My last update on the iPad changed my layout on me, I had a heck of a time finding stuff.

As long as you hit that wire with the connecting hook at precisely eighty-eight miles per hour the instant the lightning strikes the satellite dish... everything will be fine. Time circuits on... Flux Capacitor... fluxing... Engine running... All right!

Yeah, that's not gonna' work for me. I think our coach came with the Bronzeleaf PMS and a dial-up connection!

I had the pleasure of meeting John last weekend as he was taking off on his shake down run. The engine cover is STUNNING. I'm glad to hear you had no engine heat issues. What is it like to be the trend setter. I'm sure your new add-on will be the talk of the Hoots Rally.

Vette, John is referring to the Vmspec system from silverleaf. I use one as well on our 08 Essex. In my case I use an old windows based pen computer (if you are old enough to remember those). The VMSpec system provides absolutely great and invaluable engine performance information

It was nice meeting you too.
I would really like to see you come on up to the Hoots rally, your coach is beautiful.

Our 2006 Essex doesn't have the Silverleaf system, it has E-Plex...hence the quote from the movie "Back to the Future"!

As does ours, sadly. I just use the Vspec engine monitoring system which does not need the silverleaf coach system to work. Speaking of eplex, I have sent at least 3emails to their UK support group and after a month have still not received a response. It is too bad the the base architecture of the Silverleaf and eplex were not similiar

I'll show what all I added for engine monitoring at Hoots.
