Didn't know if this should go in this forum or the Workhorse but here goes. I need to change the serpentine belt on my 04 W22. I haven't made an attempt to open the doghouse yet but I'm assuming there will be enough access room to the front of the engine. I have limited use of my right arm and just wondered if this is something I can do or should I just have someone else do it?
I see there is one screw head (for latch) I assume on the floor that needs to be turned and then it appears you just lift and pull back to remove the doghouse top? Any info would sure be great.

If you look under the body of coach over the passenger wheel area make a check of position of latch before going inside and turning it.
The dog house is going to be tight to floor place a flat 1" crow bar blade in corner of dog house where latch is and lift the corner of dog house.
May need another screwdriver to place under dog house so it will not snap back into cut out of dog house.
Take your time so you do not brake down sidewalls of fiberglass dog house.
Here is instructions for changing belt.

If it is like most motors you will need a long wrench or a 1/2 drove socket wrench to move the belt tensioner to release the tensioner to remove the belt. I do not know what kind of access you have to the belts. Make note of how the belt is positioned around the pulleys or see if there is a sticker under the hood. Look at the job and see if it is something you can feel you can tackle. Somtimes you will need a 3rd hand the hekp get the belt positioned and held in place to release the belt tensioner.

Steve--

Look at Oemy's site here. Note the routing schematic and make a copy to crawl underneath with. He has the exact same model MH as you do.

The belt can be changed from underneath without even opening the dog house.

My dog house unlocks using a quarter- 1/4 turn Counter clockwise. Lift the aft end up slightly and pull it out, going in a rearward direction.

While your down under, make sure you look at Oemy's "fan shroud lower bolt upgrade" (right below the belt stuff your interested in right now)- This is a must for your rig if that shroud is not secure at the bottom! Bad things have happened to some of out W-22 owners while pulling mountains and some fan parts seperate-

Good luck,

Good luck,
Thanks for the information Max. I just crawled from under the coach but couldn't see that far up. My problem is my right arm. I can't lift it to far and if anything with weight is involved then it's a lost cause. It appeared to me that the belt would have to be unlooped and then looped (re-install) around the inner fan shroud. I don't think I can do that. Thanks for the info on the lower shroud as it looks as that has been addressed already as there is a screw dead center of the lower shroud now attached. The park we're in seem to have people that like to help other people with projects but being we're a renter not an owner there seems to be no interest in my project so I guess I'll make a few phone calls to see if there is a mobile service that can do it.
