I am having trouble with the entry door on my 2003 Dutch Star. Pulling the outside handle doesn't open the door until last part of movement of the handle. Any suggestions?

I would check with Newmar parts on this door handle and maybe replace it

Do you know who manufactured the entry door? If it was PTL engineering, by chance, then you can resolve the issue yourself with some adjustments by removing the inner panel. Some detailed instructions are available on the Alpine forum for PTL doors. I had the same problem with my PTL door until I adjusted it. A year later it is working perfectly. If it isn't a PTL door, then I can't help you.

In the interim, you have a real risk of getting locked out of your MH if the latch doesn't release the door. So I recommend that you leave a window unlocked (that can be used in an emergency to gain access to the inside of the MH) until you fix the entry door. Select a window that you or someone of your choosing could fit through.

I was recently at Newmar and had the same problem. The tech said it was a simple adjustment and he did not charge for the repair. Guess I should have asked him what he did.

Thanks for the reply, I just looked at the door and it is a P.T.L Pos-A-Loc No. 00665. Do you have any suggestions?

Check out these two links.

They have pictures and explanations of what needes to be done to adjust the latch on a PTL door.
