When we park our KS in front of the house, I have to turn the steps off so they don't come out and get hung up on the curb.

Hi Bill,
What did you find out about your steps? For me, when experiencing an abnormal weather condition, I do nothing until I spend some time in what I consider weather the coach is used to. This includes altitude, heat, cold and rain. Strange stuff happens when the coach is in what it considers deviant weather. I think the coach is trying to tell me something.

If your stair's do not fully retrack steps may not come out. Plug for motor may not be locked and moisture is in plug, clean and dry. Plug has a seal in plug could tape around seam.

We had a similar problem, and it turned out to be the controller. On a different forum there was a post along the same lines. On my 2005 DSDP, the steps are Coach Steps, which was bought out a couple of years ago. Now they are owned by Lippert Industries. They have the controller available on their web site. The other post said that the older ones were particularly vulnerable to water, not being adequately sealed. I hope the new one is better. At least when our steps went in and wouldn't come back out (unlike when they wouldn't go back in all the way on our trip up here, being extended about 4 inches) I pulled the fuse and we used a small step ladder to get in. Good luck.
