I had a client whose '04 Kountry Star DP caught on fire on the street side below the bedroom--where the inverter is. Luckily, both got out in the middle of the night on time, coach was totaled. They didn't know the official cause of the fire last I spoke to them.

I had a special order '05 Mountain Aire DP whose inverter shorted out while being built at the factory and caused smoke damage, totaling the coach for new sale purposes. I was told that the inverter manufacturer blamed it on improper
installation.

There was a good idea put forth on the other forum, install smoke detectors in the basement.
