I have an excess slop condtion. I now can't retrack the jacks. I have turned the key to the off postion and then on agian to retrack the jacks with no success. There is no control in manual mode either. It is HWH computerized leving system.

MA 4529,

There is a manual override to retract the levelers. Pull out your front compartment (genset compartment.) You will find the HWH controls. Each jack has a solenoid. You can open the valve and the jack should retract. Do it for each and they should all be up.

I assume you have hit the travel button on the control panel with the key turned to the left?

Good luck.

Like ruf said, I assume you have tried turning the HWH on/off/on (with the key on ACC - to the left) and then hit the "store" button?

Are the jacks simply not retracting at all or not retracting all the way in to give the green "travel mode" light? Is your parking brake engaged?

If so, the manual bleeds are your next choice as is a call to Newmar as to what's up.

BTW it is NOT the excess slope condition that caused this - I get that all the time as I boondock a lot - but some system malfunction (fuse, sensor, control pad, etc.). At 45feet long it takes very little slope to make for an angle that can not be corrected by the jacks alone!

I now have the jacks up. I left everything off overnight. Turned the key to left and hit the store button and the jacks retracked as normal. and have green travel mode light. Started the engine to fill air bags. The front and rear air gauges went to 150 psi very quickly but did not fill the bags. Any idea's?
To support the comment that it may be a system error.I noticed that when I first tried to level the coach and got the excess slop condition I had one rear jack that did not extend at all.
I am parked for the day but need to moving tommorow.
Thanks for the all the help.

Hi! When you are in a excess slope condition, one jack will not go down. That is normal. You do not have a problem. If your bags did not inflate. I would restart the engine and see what happens. Make sure your jacks are turned off. Paul

jets has it right. When the "excess slope" lights up the system shut down right then and there. This may leave 1 or more jacks completely retracted still. Completely normal.

How long did you wait for the bags to fill? It MAY take several mins before the bags begin a slow filling. Did the bags even need to fill? In one night they probably won't bleed down and you'll be at ride hight practically right off the bat.

For those with the Hadley Air Control panel, ride hight attained is indicated by the green light above the "Std Ride" button going solid for a couple mins and then completely turning off.

For everyone ride height attainment is also indicated by the loud air pssst (system releasing excess air) coming from the rear of the coach.
