I have read many threads regarding the value and opinons on the "brake Switch", and there seems to be many pros and cons on their value.

As an owner of a new 2012 Mountain Aire, I would appreciate the input from any who have installed the "Brake Switch". Is it worth it? I find the fact that it can operate even while the cruise control is engaged to be quite attractive. ( I am not proficient at "feathering" the accelerator pedal.) Since I see it advertise in the FCOC Flyer, can I presume that Cummins is not opposed to its installation?( will it negate the warranty?) What are the downsides of its installation and use, if any?.. Is it difficult to install?... Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated... Thanks

Hi Caluch,
On my former 05 KSDP,FL XC chassis , I had the Brake Switch installed by myself. It worked like a charm and was easy to install,if you can do wiring,crimping... The difficult part was laying on your back and finding that one wire # 36E,I believe.
I have an other Brake Switch installed now on my 2011 DSDP,FL XCR,ISL 400 chassis. Installation was easy, but laying on your back was tough and finding that elusive 36E wire was not so easy, putting back the cowling around the steering column was a B^#*$,in other words a BEAR to fit the
original screw holes.
The 36E was at the bottom of the steering column on a connector.
A good ground connection was in back of the instrument cluster.
I did not yet had a chance to test the system, but I wired it with FASTON connectors,so that I can go back to the way it was in a few minutes.
Would I do this again...YES,because to go to a Cummins or ? FL dealer would mean 3 hours of driving, waiting, pay a $100 or so to program the
computer from Manual to Latch. Email me if you like to talk about it.
After Thanksgiving,I will know how it works with my 2 stage engine brake

Thanks for your insights... The local Cummins dealer says he can reprogram the ecm, but not until his tech is trained in the EPA10 updates. I may just wait, since I am not enthusiastic about contorting my body to do the wiring.... I salute your energy!!! Thanks again
