I'm making this post for a freind of mine. Hes on his maiden voyage with his beautiful 2011 Essex (full wall slide) While on route here he pulled off the road to check his directions and while sitting there an air bag popped, he made it to our resort and after he got set up another popped. The company that was going to tow him in to the shop sent a guy down to look at his coach, he had them start it up and fill the air bags, about 4 hours later (while I was in his coach) another bag popped. All these bags popped while sitting still. I'm going to send him a link to this thred so he can watch this thread. All help is appreciated. Thanks, Bruce....

I'm befuddled. First bag coulda been overpressure from the compressor, maybe a faulty blow-off, but would have to be coupled w/another problem. Once the first bag burst, I would think that would constitute a fairly substantial air leak, after which pressure would be tough to establish. The ride height adjusters should dump excess air fairly continuously, so the bags don't overinflate anyway.

I'm confident Newmar will get it right. Unfortunately there is never time to do it right the first time, but always time to do it over.

This is a Spartan issue. I too wonder how after 1 or 2 bags pop the system is able to air up the other bags. I am sure Spartan will fix ths issue.

Send him to RV Safety, Merritt Island, Florida and have him schedule a weighing.

I can think of 3 things that can pop an air bag.

1: Faulty bag
2: Faulty bag environment (Something rubbing against the bag)

3: And this is the biggie: Over pressure.. Now let's look at #3

Two causes: Faulty control valves or sensors.. OR;; Overweight.

So, have him get it weighed, while they do that they can tell him the proper tire pressure for each wheel, cause I can all but guarantee that what he is running now is either too high (Pressure mentioend on side wall)( or too low (on sticker inside coach) Proper pressure is important for best control and tire life.
