OH, what a loaded question you have ask!
You will get a lot of opinions here on this, but, let me be the first.
I had ONE and only ONE. When I needed it the company, out of Fla, tried to find more reasons to NOT pay than one good reason to pay.
My Story: Had a class A with a 460 Ford engine. The oil pump failed to pump, or lubricate all of the internal lubricated parts. Since the oil pump was not listed as a covered item the company refused to pay. Next step an attorney, and he had a ball with those idiots and needless to say they did pay.
Would I buy another extended contract? NEVER!!!!!!
There may be a good company out there but I have yet to find it,and, I believe many more here feel the same way.
You may notice by my signature we have been fulltimers for about 6 years and our Newmar has been very reliable after the first 18 months. You have a good product and Newmar will help if something odd comes up. They just take care of us!!

My recommendation would be to set aside in a savings account the amount of money that an extended warranty would cost and use it when/if necessary.

Baby Bear apparently had an inclusionary policy...will ONLY pay for what is listed in contract..if you get an EXclusionary policy, everything will be covered by contract EXCEPT what is specifically excluded in writing...this is the kind you want...very little to NO wiggle room. If it's not excluded by word on paper, then it's automatically INCLUDED as covered.
I have brief but GOOD experience with Agape in Arizona...great contracts and pricing....

As said in the first reply, you are going to get a lot of answers on this one. I purchased my MH second hand and when I bought it, I got an extended warranty (dealer and I split the cost). Mine is also an exclusionary policy and is with RV Guard. To date, I have had two incidents where we called upon the policy for payment and they paid in both cases. I think one thing that really counts when using the policy is the service shop who is doing the repairs knowing how to handle the claim, the details they provide, and when they call to make the claim. I use Cummins South for my service and they are very professional in everything they do, have the experience working with these warranty policies, and know how to handle them. In the second case (U-joint failure due to manufacturing defect -- after 5 years in service), even Cummins South was surprised that they paid -- this is normally a "wear and tear" item. Again, I think it is in a large part due to the professional manner in which they handle the claims calls.

Just as a matter of note, my part of the contribution has now been almost recovered (only $200.00 to go) in full and I still have over 2 years to go with the policy.
