2006 Dutch Star with 110V and satellite-TV connection installed in the 2nd compartment (passenger side) from the rear tires - this is a small compartment - where does one put the TV ? I would guess in the 1st behind the rear wheels since it is shallow but does not seem to connectg with the installation compartment - need some help and thanks !!

Most I have seen are installed in bay with the coax and 110 outlet just forward of rear tires.

I have an outside TV and only use it rarely. Too many bugs at night and too bright during the day. It is impressive though !

Hi Renden,
In addition to the compartment being located in front of the the rear wheel on the passenger side, there may be a peg board in the shallow compartment. When not installing an entertainment center, one can hang tools, shelving or any other peg board attachments.

If the exterior TV was not ordered, then that compartment contains a pegboard and no provisions for a TV.
You would have run the coax and 120V.

If you do not want in compartment you could always go to Newmar factory and maybe they could do this:
Thats a LCD under the white door.

Am installing a TV in the pegboard compartment which is 5 '' shallow - The connections (110V and Coax) are situated on the wall (just close by and easily acccessible) of the 2nd compartment (besides the back wheel pegboard one) I notice that the backing is metal (aluminium probably) - Any problems in using a drill and 1- 1/2 inch metal screws fror my TV wall mount??
Thanks !
I do not intend to remove the pegboard but will probably cover it up cosmetically as the Dometic unit for the electric awnings is also installed in this compartment, on the pegboard.

If you use long bolts and star or lock washers through the peg and sheet metal should be ok. Most LCD's are light.
One thing to look out for is your lock on door when closing the door does not hit the screen

Renden:
If your coach is similar to my 08 KSDP, the water and waste tanks are behind the pegboard, so be careful how long the screws are. Also, not sure what you mean by backing, but I actually found that the backside of the pegboard was covered with the same material used in the basement (a cloth type material) which when turned around, looked nice since it was the same as the rest of the compartment. My pegboard was not strong enough to allow mounting a tv and actually came up from the floor of the shallow compartment. Perhaps you might be able to stablize by attaching to the pegboard with the majority of the weight on the floor. Not sure you have the same situation, but thought I would throw that out there. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Jim

Jim you are right - no metal backing behind pegboard which is quite sturdy - I did by the new LEC 32 inch very thin Samsung TV - did the installation using the pegboard with additional srews - checking the back so that I would not penetrate anything and by running my hand behind the pegboard, every spot was clear
Now I am not happy because I will never drive the MH with the TV in the compartment - Will put it in its box with foam protection during traveling - So easy to install with the brackets that I bought (mounting brackets) - the best I can do for now until something comes up

I did install a 26" samsung in the peg board bay and it worked out very well. I removed the pegboard, the spacer blocks at the bottom, and the gray material on the back of the peg board. I got a nice swing out TV wall mounting bracket from Newmar factory. This is nice because you can swing it out to face the center of the awning and people can view easier. Anyway I replaced the pegboard with a 3/4" piece of plywood cut the same size as the pegboard. On the bottom edge cut a slit so the plywood will slip over the alum. angle that goes acrossed the bottom. Drilled my holes for my TV bracket and applied the gray material to the plywood with spray on glue. This makes it look like all the other compartments. Re-installed the rest of the metal brackets and ran a the 2 cables forward to the next compartment where my AC & cable hookups are. Its a good weekend project. Just keep in mind screw and bolt lenght.
