External Entertainment Centers

We're seriously considering ordering a New 2012 Dutch Star in January 2012

We definitely want the exterior entertainment center and was wondering which is the better choice. 32" TV in the storage compartment or the 40" built into the side of the coach.

Any pros or cons to these setups. My guess is there may be more glare issues in the the one in the side wall, but would like some real world opinions.

Thanks Trap

Not having that option if it was I would order the one built in side wall and not in compartment.
Up higher maybe less glare and no accidents when place lower near ground level.
Plus no lost of storage up higher newer LCD's are thin.
Have seen doors damaged in those area compartments.
Good luck in your new Newmar.

I have one in the compartment and would like it in the slide.
It sits up higher and is easier to view
You get some storage back in the compartment (very little).
Depending on floor plan the compartment door can get in the way of viewing.
Newmar tried the tv in the slide wall several years ago and then quit, I am gald they are doing it again.

Hi Traps90,
My vote is for the TV in the slide (side) of the coach. I have one in the basement compartment. That is nice, but the TV up higher would be much better. Up higher in a slide, the TV is positioned near the center of the main awning. In the basement the TV is positioned at the end of the main awning. In the lower position, the sun can catch the TV screen quickly and the TV becomes difficult to see.

Thanks for all the replies guys, sounds like in the sidewall is the way to go, which is what I suspected. Always helps having input from others

I have the 40" TV in the slide, that's the way to go. The 32" in the storage
compartment is too low to watch.
