F53 Oil Life Monitoring System ???
Have a 2018 Bay Star 3124. Just changed the oil. Looking at the Ford Owners Manual it seems to indicate that the F53 comes with an Oil Life Monitor from Ford. Tried the reset procedure from the Ford manual and nothing happens, except a hydraulic type sound when the brake pedal and gas pedal are depressed while the ignition in the ON position. So now I am wondering if the F53 from Newmar really does come with Oil Life Monitor or not. Anyone know or have knowledge of this?
Thanks

As near as I can tell the reset procedure is probably a cut-and-paste from a different model truck owners manual. The F53 doesn't have an OLM.

Thanks. Thats what I suspected . Its unfortunate that documentation in the form of owners manuals is so poor from both Ford and Newmar

My old ones did are you sure instructions not in manual?
If your using syntactic oil, Mobil 1 for instance, would not matter anyway would be every 5000 miles, when I was changing oil.

Register your coach through Newgle. It is serial number specific. The Ford owners manual is largely directed by the government. My F150 is over 400 pages of wisdom like "do not try to dismount tires with a screwdriver". "Turn off engine before checking the serpentine belt". I wouldn't be surprised if it warned you to not drink the anti freeze.
Then again, there's Tide Pods. Maybe telling people the obvious has Become a necessity...

I’ve not seen anything anywhere about an oil monitoring system.

In the F53 manual there's a paragraph on how to reset it. That's the only mention of it.

This is true. Nothing in the manual about any dash light indicators, mileage, etc.

I get mine done every 5k too so i am not arguing with you, but the manual actual states every 7500. Which i found surprising.

Newgle is basically nothing more that an electronic reprint of the documentation that comes with the coach. Very generic in most respects and of limited value. Guess I will just wait to see if I get an alert at some point and then deal with it if I do. The method described in the Ford owners manual does not work so I'm guessing the coach does not have one but time will tell

I might stretch it a bit if it was near the end of camping season and change for winter.
The instructions were in the older Chassis Ford manual not sure there were any lights on dash.

I agree with the OP this option does not apply. I attempted the reset on my 2017 and there were no dash lights activated. I call it the sham reset process.

My owners manual also says 7500 miles. Are you guys doing it at 5000 just because you want to? Which is fine....I'm just wondering

If you compare how hard the engine works pushing these bricks through the wind vs. a pickup truck, motor homes are severe service. Add in the annual average mileage for most people is about 5000 and it ends up being once a year.
