Does anyone know if the output of the factory installed, roof mounted, 5W solar panel is connected to anything.
Inquired with my dealer, he did not know, service writer talked with Newmar they said they do not connect in to anything, leave it up to dealer prior to delivery. That doesn't pass my common sense filter. As my dealer is relatively new to the Newmar line they did not they were supposed to ask the customer where to connect it and are kinda lost. I am trying to verify that it is not connected to anything and also if it is not, where would I look for the unconnected wires so I could connect them to my chassis batteries. Although 5W is not much, should help to replace some losses due to parasitic loads.
Thanks for any help.

My 5 WATT solar panel is connected to the chassis battery (engine starting battery). This was done by Newmar when they built the coach. It makes no sense the panel would be installed and not connected. Consider calling Newmar yourself.

As my dealer said during delivery, the 5 watt solar panel delivers about enough energy to light the LED showing it's charging.....

In Newmar's 2002 brochure for my Dutch Star it shows under "electrical features" that the 5-Watt Solar Panel is standard equipment and used to "Charge Chassis Battery." I'm sure it shows the same for yours as well.
