Factory Trip

Took delivery of our 2019 Canyon Star a couple of weeks ago and want to go to the factory for a tour. Also have a few things that need to be repaired so I'll get those done at the same time.

Can someone explain the process of scheduling for a tour and for repairs? Where do you stay? Do you have to leave the motorhome or can you stay in it while there? Just looking for some insight as to the details of such a trip.

Hi,
1. Call Newmar Customer Service for the service appointment.
2. You can stay in your coach. They bring them back around 2PM every day. They will arrive at 6 AM to get the coach.
3. For the tour, just show up at 9:45 AM and or 12:45 PM for the 10 AM and 1 PM tours.

Unless you need a windshield or extensive paint work you will stay in your coach every night.

If you're planning on taking your CS back for service, do it ASAP. I don't know how things are now with the new service center open, but they always had a long wait to get in.

Exactly. And if for some reason they need to keep the coach overnight and you can’t stay in it, Newmar will take care of setting everything up for your stay, which for us was at the Oakwood Resort in Syracuse, about 20 minutes away.

Welcome to the Newmar family......

There "should" be a sticker on the drivers side window with a person's picture.

This is the brand specialist, should be Bruce. (I've used a lot of should(s) - our rig is a 2017 and things change.)

There is a phone number on the sticker you can call Bruce at and schedule an appointment.

Or you can email Bruce at: canyonstarservice@newmarcorp.com.

In either case, calling or email, you can also ask questions about your new motor home. And if is isn't Bruce anymore - a Newmar customer service person will take good care of you.

There is also a number to Ford customer service also.

Good luck.

We have only been at Nappanee a couple days but are impressed. We were met by our tech at about 6:15am at our site. He went over the work order with us and then asked if I wanted to drive the coach across town to the new facility or have one of their CDL drivers do it (he is Amish and has no license, let alone a CDL). I told him I would gladly drive it over.

We didn't go inside the new facility but will do so tomorrow when we take the coach back. Everyone we have dealt with here is very helpful and professional.
