God bless Avery and family. My wife is on her 13th year since her diagnosis. I always tell her, and anyone else that listens, that she is the bravest, strongest person I have ever known…I am going to tell her that I have to add Avery to that sentiment. It was hard enough going through that as a 47 year old.....I can't imagine what it took at his age.

You go, young man, and know that you have shown more strength of character than MOST men 5 times your age. We need a whole lot more like you!

spin, just saw this post and what great news! My hope now is that all this ugliness is forgotten and Avery and your family can enjoy a long, happy and healthy life. If he hasn't already I'm sure he'll soon outgrow his shirt.

Thank you all, never has a prayer been wasted. Avery had a lot of monitoring left but all good for now.

Last year at the original Hoots gathering, we had two big things happen that set the tone for the quality of the people who gathered together -- the generosity of the Hoots for the family at the resort who were struggling with finances after leaving Colorado for Tennessee so that the oldest son could attend law school and he and his musical family with the single Mom could support him in his dream -- and having the inspiration of Avery in front of us.

I cannot remember a time during the entire week that we were together that people did not remember both and have them in front of us as we went about our activities. We were all so very happy to be able to get a special HarleyChief and Jackie T shirt and banner signed by all Hoots and sent out to Avery to let him know of our love for him and our wish that he would have a speedy recovery. Each and every Hoot was dialed in to this and it made me very proud to be a part of this special group. The Hoots' concern for Avery and their generosity toward the 'Ransom Notes' family when they had so little were second to none -- and a real joy to behold. To be able to know a year later that Avery has done so very well completes the circle and is the icing on the cake. And I know I speak on behalf of our entire group to say how special this is.

As we celebrate this wonderful news, we join to congratulate you too, Steve, for all the dedication and hard work you and your wife have given in this process to Avery. To have family who support you all the way is, of course, a big part of this kind of equation. You and your wife deserve applause for your dedication to this effort.

I learned to hate cancer when I worked in a hospital while in college. Talk about not being a respecter of persons -- cancer of any type isn't. When someone overcomes it, I rejoice. When someone doesn't, I hope that they felt God's presence through the ordeal and didn't have to feel left alone by others as the end drew near.

That Avery is lived to have this photo made is a true blessing and a miracle in and of itself. That those around him never forget to be grateful will be another.

This is certainly joyful news!! We cannot imagine the trials Avery and the rest of your family have endured this past year. We pray that the Lord's healing hand continues to be on Avery and His peace, that passes all understanding, continues to be with you all.
