Does anyone know if a 2000 DSDP 3859 is prewired for a Fantastic Fan in the bedroom or is it would it have to go where the rear AC unit is?

Greg

The 14"x 14" cutout for AC will take your Fantastic fan. You may have the 12v's there also.
If not the 12v could be wired using the piece of romex.

Ya but...isn't the 2nd AC unit there already? I was wondering if there is a another area available for a FF.

Do not have your brand of rig, but I would bet that it does not. You may check the roof for any indication of a place to add a fan. My roof had areas tagged for Solar and Sat. It shows you were to cut open the roof to get to the OEM wiring.

With that being said, you may have 12 volt supply going to the ac that you could use. If you install the FF in your roof, then you could "Fish" the line accross. Also you must have 12 volts lighting in your ceiling. That would be a second source to "Fish" from. Hope this helps you out. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Years.

Ya...I am afraid of that too. The coaches I have had in the past have only had the single cutout for either a fan OR an AC. I am fishing to see if anyone has found any other area suitable as space for the 14x14 needed by a fan. The wiring hsould be no problem.

Greg:
If you have ducted air then the air con (or heat pump in our case) takes up the hole for the fan. You would have to cut another hole in the roof and reinforce it. Not something I'd recommend, but could be done. We have two Fantastic Fans, one in the kitchen area and one over the toilet/bath area. We ordered the MH that way.
I did put a ceiling fan in the bedroom right over the bed. We ordered our 2000 DSDP with a ceiling fan but, due to the bedroom slide, Newmar wouldn't put one in the 2002. I found a 30" low mount 6 bladed fan at Home Depot and installed it. It's 120 volt but since we leave the inverter on all the time that's not a problem.

Hey Deen,

Ceiling fan...good idea.

I remember seeing a ceiling fan in the units with no bedroom slide and will have to find low profile unit to fit above our slide. We alo have a FF in the bathroom as well but it would be nice to have more ventilation in the bedroom area.

My inverter only powers the TV up front so I will have to tap into the 120AC circuit for the AC unit. By the way...is our heat pump up there too? Is that a combined unit? The manual I got from the previous owner shows the heat pump elsewhere.

Greg
