At Dealer yesterday, for a couple minor issues.

#1 Lock arms on bedroom slide will sometimes activate when slide is put out.
They replaced a magnetic switch and said that 'should' do it!! We will see.

#2 Water dispenser not working. Thru trial and error and more error!!! I found it was freezing up. Dealer says I have Fridge set Too High It is on 6!!
Which I did not fell was High.

So I will try at 3 and see if it will keep things cold.

What setting does everyone have their Fridge at??? Norcold 4 door 1200.

Rick

I run mine on 7. It will freeze up if the outside temps drop into the lower 50's(F) or lower. I hate that.

Rick we keep the fridge on 6 and have no problem. If we go to 7 the food or soda on the top shelve will freeze sometimes if the outside temp goes down.
Don't go down to 3, buy try 5 first.

I also think 3 is too low!!! The freezing of the water dispenser is caused by 'Something' Another issue that the dealer does not want to look at.

If there was no water dispenser it would not be an issue but because there is !! It should work!!!

I have ours set at 6 with dispenser in the door and no problem. Ask Newmar for an extension if all your items are not fixed or not checked out. I did and got an extra 3 months to get work done and work that had been accomplished verified to my satisfaction

Hi RIck,
My refergerator is Dometic. It has a low ambient temperature switch. Does your refer have a low ambient temperature switch or something similar? Mine is located in an awkward place. Open the refer door and it is at the inside top of the door casing. As best I remember, it activates a heater so the cooling unit remains withing the temperatur specs.

Set your dial to whatever it takes to keep the fridge at 35-40 degrees. That is the proper setting. No more, no less. No guessing involved. Make sure to allow the temp to stabilize overnight before reading.

Rick, we had the same refer in our 05 DSDP and had the same problem - water dispenser would not work due to freeze up. Newmar gave me a new frig at factory service visit. Was told that on some of the units, the tube that goes to the dispensor was pressed against a coil when the units were insulated and consequently the water in the tube would freeze. Insulation should have been between the tube and the coil. Something to check.

Rick, sounds like Camp Newmar. There was a coach there my last visit (I can not recall whose) that must have had the same mis-routed tube problem. I do recall it was quite an undertaking to rectify the routing of the tube in the door.
Best of!

Somethings you may want to check for that have been chronic problems on my coach:
1. basement doors delaminating. Look at them from different angles as you slowly walk by each door. The delamination will look like waves in the paint. Sometimes you can feel the wave as you run your hand over the door. Almost all the time the only way you can see the delamination is a visual check at different angles.

2. Stress cracks in the front cap. The cracks are small and even with or above the top front running lights.

3. Laminate floor making noise when you walk on it.

4. Stove burner(s) do not light using the stove spark igniter.

5. Rear HVAC short cycles. Caused by the thermistor being installed on an outside wall.

6. Air mattress (the one in the fold up couch) leaks.

7. Bubbles in the laminate flooring.

8. Rusted entry steps.

9. Outside driver's mirror being loose where it attaches to the coach body.

10. Entry step motor fails.

11. Winshield wiper motor fills with water and fails. This one is widespread and double really really chronic. The last motor, Newmar filled the opening where the wires exit the motor with sealant.

12. Outside mirror heaters do not work.

11. Surround sound FM antennas (the 2 "rubber ducky" antennas) rust or loose their insulation cover (depends on which ones you have).

Good luck.
