The operative word is "major" power draw. As noted in previous posts, the radio is never fully turned off, even after you turn it "off". I don't know if a different radio would solve the problem or not. Would be interesting to find out if this phenomenon is a function of the particular radio we have. Newmar changed brands in 2015.

They probably have the main power wire and the Yellow memory power wire tied together and wired to a permanent power source.

Which fuse is it that you have to pull? I assume it's on the block by the driver's left foot?

Somewhere in that area. I think DH said he pulled it from under the dash on the left side. He looked up the location in the Ford chassis manual that came with the coach.

I have asked Newmar if they have a specific permanent fix for the problem. Will be interesting to hear back. And I do expect to hear back. I have yet to email them a question to which I did not get a satisfactory answer.

The problem is, some want the use of the radio (XM) without having the key on. Most times, it's no problem because we are hooked up to shore power. But if you are boon docking or just sitting in front of your house without shore power, you need the ability to turn it off. I really don't see a solution that will please everyone, except a separate on off switch for the radio.

You are correct about Newmar always answering questions. It will be interesting to get their take on this.
