After looking for several months, one June 15 we saw a posting online for a 2012 Dutch Star 3735, one owner, no smoking or pets, 12,300 miles
Called the owner (the day I had cataract surgery where they say don't make any legal agreements) discussed, made an offer and agreed to send a deposit.
A few weeks later we were able to travel to Virginia to have a look. My gosh, it looked better than new!!!! The deal was done. We worked out all the details, set a delivery date and all was set. Until I had a retinal tear that kept me out of pocket for several more weeks.
Finally, a little over a week ago I got the clearance to travel. We drove our Jeep to Virginia on Tuesday, met with the seller on Wednesday morning and took delivery!!!!! The seller went over everything with us and rode with me for the trip to a nearby campground where he guided us as we got set up
We spent two nights getting everything settled in. This morning we set off on our own, hooked up the Jeep and set off for the Shenandoah National Park for our first official destination. A little hassle getting the Blue Ox Patriot set up, but all went well. Tomorrow we're off to get it home to Kentucky before I have to fly out on Sunday.
Only 3 months until we retire and set off in "Scooter" on our new adventures
.
For those that are looking, the perfect coaches are out there, you just need to be patient and move fast once you see one that fits the need.
Pictures will have to follow, really slow WIFI at the campground!!!
