Yes, checked all batteries and connections.

(Sounds like the ground for something is using the lights to complete their circuit.)

I will try this tomorrow.

Well I have to give credit where it is due. I prayed about it (yes I know you non believers will think I am crazy. I don't care) last night and asked the Lord to help me and reveal the problem. Well this morning when I got up, the problem had disappeared. All indicator lights worked as they should. All switch lighting and switches were normal and the reefer had stopped bouncing between AC and gas, so I'm thinking, OK must be some moisture some where causing the ground problem and it had dried and no there is no longer any ground. So I turn on the light over the sink area and start to make coffee. I turn around and notice the reefer light is bouncing again, so I go check the indicator lights, bam, they're not working again. I go back and turn off the light, everything normal. WOW......Now you may think it was just luck or what ever but I know who revealed it to me. Thank you Lord for your help. And thank all you wonderful guys for your suggestions and help also. Problem found, next , figure out why light is doing that. Thanks again.

I'm in Calif, bit far to hook up.

An intermittent problem will likely get worse and become quite the irritation.

The light may have a bad ballast and its in need of replacement, frequencies sent to fridge will cause problems.
In QT's # 3 there is info on replacements for florescent lamps to LEDs and corrections for ballast transformers. The ballast converts 12v to 110 for lighting.
Here is a 1996 Brochure, 97 does not have chassis information and Owners Guide for you.
In my signature below are links for more info for your Newmar.
Enjoy the forums.

In my humble opinion God has a lousy sense of humor. Chalk it up to luck, good timing, or even perhaps fate. If this is Gods work you'll be chasing a ground fault until you die or it finally breaks. Check all things on that light switch circuit. Look it up in the wiring diagram or remove fuses untill you isolate that 12 volt circuit. Then, check stuff systematically until you find the cause.
