I wish I could say that I have only done it once

But not recently, I guess I have learned.

Have had numerous near misses and a few "oops" moments. Currently looking for a 50 amp plug. Only was going to move the 5er about 50'. Drove over the power cord. Thank goodness no damage to the wall.

I try to not rush to do anything. Look twice and move once. Just resigned to the fact there will be more errors.
Try any RV supply, or even Home Depot or Lowes

There are some coaches that are wired such that when activating the slide IN switch the drivers seat will move forward before the slide will move in.

You could mount a micro switch on the floor which would activate when the driver's seat is too far back. The micro switch would close and activate an interlock relay which disables power going to the side that closes near the seat.

That's the way my bay doors work when they are open and I try to either open or close the slides. My bay doors open up towards the slide.

There is a push button switch mounted on each of the bay doors located under the slides on each side. That push button needs to be depressed otherwise the slides will not operate.

I always wondered why there is no mechanical limit that would stop the seat before it hits the slide (in the driving position) ... heavy sigh ...

Guilty of causing a drivers seat to be bent! It helps to know you are not the only one doing something forgetful.

Happy New Year!

Rest assured, the members of the "Slide Switch Drivers Seat Club" are vast and probably number in the millions!

I think the only people that haven't done it are:

- The people who said they haven't and lied.
- The people who bought a new coach and haven't used the slide switch yet.
- The people who own a coach with no slides.

Dont feel bad. Many others have made the same mistake.......including myself. I forgot to move the seat forward once and to add to my bonehead mistake I pushed the slide open button and went outside to watch the slide open. When I heard the first "crunch" I ran back inside to stop the slide and found it bent the drivers seat to the left and tore the fabric. As 007 said Newmar slides could double as rock crushers. Needless to say I haven made those mistakes again. Fortunately I was able to straighten the seat bracket and repair the seat covering.

I have never done that. I'm a proud member of the "forgot to unplug the power and drove over the cord, ripping it out of the transfer switch and creasing the door" club, though.

I just need the cover, the plug is fine. However the places I looked want to see the entire plug - a matter of 150. Got to be cheaper but have to find.

If you are looking for a new plug to go on your power cord then Amazon is the place.

Amazon.com: Camco 55255 50 AMP PowerGrip Replacement Plug: Automotive

Not sure what you mean about "I just need the cover but the plug is fine".

This is on the 5er. The cord is separate from the unit. There is a male plug fixture on the wall with a cover. Flip the cover up and push in the female end of the 50 amp power cord.
