Attached is my sketch of the access point from the rear of the coach. Hope this helps others wanting to run wiring from their engine compartment into the basement area ahead of the rear tag/drive axles (as it was a PITA to try and find an opening). As indicated, I think this (access point/channel) would be the same for all late model Newmar MA/LA/EX and KA's.

I plan to fill the exposed section of channel inside of the rear axle(s) wheel well with both expanding foam and then top coat it with some spray undercoating. The channel as mentioned in my previous post is partially open and measures approx. 1"H x 1.5" W so its plenty big enough to use PVC conduit or split loom to protect the wiring.

As I mentioned in previous posts, here are some photos of the channel that I used to run my wiring & split loom flex conduit from the rear of my coach (chassis battery compartment) to the forward cargo basement compartment forward of the rear axles and wet tank bay compartment with LED light RF controller mounted inside of cargo bay in front of wet tank bay.

Hope these help others...

Job 99.9% completed. All that remains is to install plastic clamp fasteners on my split loom conduit where it runs along the basement walls. Must say, I know why the quotes from Newmar and my dealer were so high...installation of under glow surround exterior LEDS is all about the labor. Took me the better part of 2-weeks to complete the job as a DIY project.

Completed installation by installing a junction box and the RF wireless controller for the LEDs in the P-4 (door side) basement compartment. Remote is stowed inside of the exterior entertainment compartment along with the remote for the Girard Awnings, and video/audio remotes.

Nice job and write up.
Very good detective work and creative thinking.
I will be checking mt Ventana out for similar construction.
No immediate plans but nice to have a plan for future projects.

Posting a few pictures of the finished product (UnderGlow LEDs) albeit the phone camera lens must have had some condensation on it as a few are a bit blurry. Some show the lights at full brightness while being subdued in others (lowered illumination). I personally prefer the lower setting which better compliments the OEM LEDs installed under the slides and on the canopy awnings as well as being more respectful to neighbors when being used.

Also, having the lighting on the driver side of the coach is a plus when considering the need to walk/work around it at night, i.e. wet bay, electrical cord reel bay, etc.

Taken at Eastlake RV Resort Houston, TX.

Hope you guys like them, We do.
