Cold water from the fresh water tank or from the main supply?

From the fresh water tank...when not connected to water supply, it functions when the water pump is turned on.

An easier way to get water than the hot/cold taps?

Hey twincamsam, when you stop laughing you might read up on the RVIA standards and regulations. Never can tell what you’ll learn.

Sorry, can't answer the question...have not experienced any backflow. I assume it will drain through the vents.

Since there is not a permitting process to make these mods to your own RV like there would be to home plumbing system doesn't seem the RVIA standards have any bearing at this point in the process. Not like they can write the end user a citation.

If you winterize the system will your pressure regulator drain and not freeze or do you use antifreeze?

If you do something like this, give some thought as to a fail-safe reminder to shut off and disconnect. You really don't want to overfill the black tank. I use the spray to add clean water to the tank when finished dumping. I am very focused on the task when the water is going in and the dump valve is closed. A simple valve open/close, I dunno. Too easy for some unintended consequences for me.

I use air but you can leave it open with no plug.
I only put antifreeze thru the pump inlet not the regulator side.

You do know you are not legal in any rv park. This is exactly why so many parks ban homebuilts. If the park loses water pressure you could kill people. Is your laziness really worth risking it? I would turn you in if I spotted you in a park I was in. There is a reason behind codes.

How could he kill people? Has check valves in place, no way for rinse line to back feed past the check valve.
Where is the rule that prevents this, never seen anything concerning black tank flush in any rules of RV parks I've used.

Between our black tank and outside the coach, in order, are a brass backflow preventer, a brass vacuum break, a plastic factory backflow preventer in the black tank flush input connection, another brass backflow preventer, a brass shut off ball valve to shut off water to the black tank flush, another brass backflow preventer, a whole coach brass shut off ball valve, a water pressure gauge on the output of the pressure regulator to monitor coach water pressure and another input water pressure gauge to monitor the park water pressure and finally, 25' of water hose on a hose reel. Belt and suspenders. Go ahead, turn me in.
If you are flushing your tank using a dedicated hose and lose water pressure while flushing, what, exactly, prevents you from contaminating the park's water system?
Oh, I also tore off the tags on our mattress. [emoji3]
