You can save yourself a lot of wire if...
On my Ventana...the wet bay is directly behind the electric cord reel bay. Behind the cord reel...behind a plastic panel...are fuse blocks and a row of circuit breakers. The fuse blocks have unused slots. Insert the fuse for your Flojet into one of the empty slots...and run your 12v pos from there to the wet bay. If you look up into the frame between your wet bay and electric cord reel...you'll probably see a wire screwed to the frame ground...you can use a ring terminal on your 12v neg attached to the frame ground to your Flojet. Much shorter run of wire...than to go all the way to the batteries. Make sure to add to the fuse block legend what you did...so mechanics or future owner's will know what that fuse is for.
If you look in Walmart...by the trolling motors...they have a 10 gauge 2-pin connector for trolling motors. I have my wires terminated in the wet bay with that connector...and the other end on the Flojet. A power dongle. It's as simple as hooking it up, whenever I want to use it. It looks similar to the 4-pole wiring harness used for trailer lights...but it's a 2-pole and much heavier gauge wire.
