Fogged Hehr emergency window

The casement (bottom) section of both of my emergency windows are fogged. I need to remove them for repair. Has anyone repaired or replaced these. The whole window seems to swivel on a hinge as does the casement element. I know that i can pull the complete window by splitting the flange, I was hoping to avoid that and the resealing that accompanies that approach.

On our Essex we had the dual pane windows that fogged up replaced with thick single pan safety glass which was guaranteed for life. Much cheaper and can be done by more glass companies.

Just need to remember if you go with single pane windows, they will have condensation like your windshield does, when it is cold out side.

I have a shop to repair the window. I am trying to remove the window the easiest way. The shadow box and the shade will make splitting the frame time consuming. The casement or whole window are hinged, I just can see how to remove them.

Be careful. I found this out when mine fell and shattered. It’s set from the top but it’s designed to fall off when you extend the bottom toward the top. Recommend a stable ladder or platform. Lift bottom toward the sky with hands in each side. After a certain height lift the entire window slightly and it should release. Remember this is designed to drop on its own. Be careful and yours won’t shatter

I finally got around to this repair. I need to know how high to lift the window to remove it. 90 degrees does not work. Is it 45 degrees or something else? There are two small sheet metal screws at the top flange that i removed. Still does not come out.
