Found my new to me Dutch Star!

1998 Model 3865, 38', 300hp Cummings, 6 speed Allison automatic, Spartan chassis, new tires, new windshield, just serviced, ready to roll. It will follow me home the first part of November. Talk to me about insurance. Thanks.

For RV Insurance I've been treated well by Nationwide. Give this gent a call for a quote.

Good Luck with the new ride. You will Love it.
I had great luck with Geico Insurance. Beat my regular insurance company by over $1000 a year.

As for Newmar Clubs, try FMCA and then look for Newmar clubs. You will have to join FMCA first.

Best of Luck and many happy miles in your future.

Congratulations! Two weeks ago we purchased a 1999 Dutch Star. We haven't been anywhere yet, still trying to learn all the ins and outs. Our dealer was not very helpful so we are learning it mostly from the internet and great message boards like this one. As far as insurance, we didn't shop around. We have several houses and cars with our local State Farm so we just went to them for the RV also. It was kind of weird though that they had to go through the state to get a quote and couldn't just work it up in the office like they do on a car or house.
Hope you enjoy your Dutch Star!

Just wanted to update my recommendation for Nationwide insurance. For the last two years I've had big rate increases. Just got my bill for the coming year and it's 20% more. So, I take back any nice things I've said about Nationwide. It's time for me to check rates from other companies.

Nice rig!

A search will find several threads on insurance options.

We went through Farm and City. Replaced a Progressive policy (don't like their politics), got more insurance at a cheaper price.
