Freeze Protection? Hot water line to generator area

While changing the Onan's oil and filter yesterday, I realized the hot water line running to the front near the generator has no insulation around its Pex type tubing and is subject to freezing.

Unless there are better ideas out there, I guess I will insulate with residential type foam insulation and by wrapping the faucet, too. Wish the drain valve on this line was further back where it exits "the body" of the coach...as seen in the attached photo, it is very near the faucet valve.

P. S. - sorry pics are side-ways. I have tried rotating them prior to posting, but they will not post right-side-up :(

What's the purpose of that line, Jeff? You've got a new coach there, and Newmar is usually pretty careful about color coding. Hot water PEX ought to be red. And I see that it tees off there-- where to?

Anyway, with PEX and Sharkbite fittings adding your own shutoff or drain valve would be a simple matter, as long as you can access the line at an appropriate place.

I did not order my coach, but it is an optional hot water line to the generator compartment. Many order it to be able to wash the windshield with hot water. The "tee" is a drain for that line that goes straight to the ground. Good observation about the line being clear instead of red...no idea why...

While organizing my basement today, I noticed a shut-off valve on what I thought was that same tubing going to my hot water faucet beside my generator. Tested it and it was it. Newmar obviously thought it needed a shut-off valve to prevent freezing Just wish it had been labeled. Now it is!

It is located along the main rail in the bay just forward of the Oasis unit. I saw another very near it and believe it is for the refrigerator water line.
