Freightliner dash light flickering, fixed? marker lights going off

The marker lights on the friehgtliner chassis keeps going off. Same as the tail lights. Of course if you are driving, it is difficult to know if these lights are off. I tow a trailer and noticed the trailer lights going off. After inspection, it was clear, the problem was from the freightliner chassis. It happens with or without the trailer connected.

Generally, after some 20-30 min of driving with the lights on, the markers/tail lights go off. Some times, they come back on, but often, the lights remain off. Have had 3-4 attempts with freightliner dealer, replacing relays, tightening the connections, etc.. the problem persists.

This issue also seems to impact the dash AC . With the dash AC on, the radiator fan should be on. however, once the lights go off, the fan also goes off. It only kicks in once the rad reaches its normal hi temp setting.

Everything common to your problem is a ground wire loose some place could be a fuse panel ground termination or a location on chassis frame.
FL has had many problems with their dash panel and lighting on their chassis there was suppose to be a fix or TSB for fix recently, check the TSB LINK top of forum for your year or back a year.

thank you 007. the dealer had gone thru the wiring and there were some lose connections.

Does anyone know if frightliner chassis has auto light option?

After the dash light flicker was re-programmed, the 'park'/marker lights turn on, on their own. when it is very cloudy, the marker lights turn on by themselves. or when it starts getting dark and I do not have the lights turned on, they turn on automatically. my coach did not have any auto light option originally. and it certainly did not do so prior to the dash light update. I am wondering if there is a problem in their new dash coding and or sensors.
