Freightliner Extended Warranty

I just completed the extended warranty with Freightliner. I know it has been discussed here, but here's the process. I initially called the Freightliner 800 number and was redirected to this website.

https://myrvcoverage.com/

No need to call Freightliner, just go to the above page and fill out the form and submit it. It basically identifies you and your coach to determine if you qualify. You need the last 6 digits of your VIN. A gentleman named Tom Morgan reviews the forms and your eligibility. I didn't hear back from Morgan, so after two days I called. He said it takes about two or three days to get to the forms and process the response.

If I hadn't called, I would have received an email explaining what is offered. In my case, since I called, we discussed it on the phone. Tom was great on the phone and explained the procedure. There are three components to the extended warranty. The first component is the general coverage of the chassis, which on my coach was $1425.00. The second component is a longer extension of the axle assemblies. He explained what was covered in the axle warranty and for an additional $200.00, I agreed to that extended coverage. Lastly, the third component was an upcharge for roadside assistance. He said he did not think the roadside assistance was a good deal and recommended against it. It was severely capped and could cost you more than using something like coach net.

We agreed on what I wanted, and I was sent an email as to what is covered. Once you accept, the request is sent to Freightliner for approval. Once approved, I received an email from William Berg with a secure method for using my credit card for payment. I paid for the plan and later got a confirmation.

For me, I like the idea that the entire driveline is now covered for 5 years. The total additional cost was $1625.00. My understanding, you have 18 months from the time the coach went into service to purchase the extended warranty.

Don:
Thanks for the information. Sounds like it is cheap insurance and well worth the money.
I'm signing up this weekend.
Thanks again.
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks for that info. The way my luck has been going this year I think I better purchase this extended warranty plan, something I don't ordinarily purchase.
