Freightliner tells me I should get 8 to 12 MPG 🤯🤬
All right everybody could I get some HONEST answers on fuel economy? I am driving a 2017 DSDP with the Cummins 450 HP motor. Freightliner tells me I should get 8 to 12 MPG. I have never did any better than 6.5 mpg. I do not want to waste my time complaining and trying to resolve this if no one else does any better than I .

How fast do you drive ? Mpg drops significantly when you drive over 60 mph on the highway.
Also are you calculating mpg by hand or using the computer? Need to average your calculations as it’s tough to always get the same amount of fuel in the tanks due to different factors.

What is your average speed on the interstate? That and wind direction will have the largest effect on your fuel economy. Our 2018 Discovery with the ISL9 and only 3500 miles on the clock is averaging 7.7 mpg. That is running around 63 MPH. I expect once ours is broken in (10K miles) we should be getting 8.5+.
As to the Freightliner estimate of 8-12 mpg. I seriously doubt you will get over 8.5 mpg due to the tag axle. But I've been proven wrong before!

I’ve tracked fuel mileage for forty-seven months 2016 ISL9 400 hp Ventana...
7.6mpg avg.
The LBCU has shown my average ranging from 8.2 to as high as 10. What can I say? ...it lies!!!
Guess I need a tune-up.

I typically set the cruise at 62 and get 5.5 to 6 but we were broken down for 2 days in MD so I set the cruise at 75 and gained 1 mpg

We have a 2015 DutchStar. We tow a 7000 pound trailer.
Our Real average is right around 6.75 to 7mpg. The onboard computer usually reads around 7.5 to 8.
We run the generator while driving about 40% of the time so that is bringing our numbers down as well.
I would guess that 8 to 8.5 can be achieved but any number above 9 is unlikely as an average.

I get 7 on my 2015 DS4369, towing a CRV. I set the cruise at 66 or 67 on the interstate.

If you had a 10-15k enclosed trailer to tow you would see the advantage......
The OP is just asking a question per a conversation with a employee at Freightliner and what he was told.........the employee is just a bit off on his statement to him..........
When folk's spend 300-500k or more on a diesel pusher, 30 cents per gallon is not a factor when fueling.........
Mine did not cost as much as mentioned above, but I need it to bring my enclosed trailer along........avg. 8- 8.5 towing........

Now approaching 30K miles traveling on all sorts of terrain w/45K gross weight at a max of 63 mph - our mpg per the LBCU is 8.3 ...
We have seen 9+ in the flats of Florida but it averages out pretty quickly in the hills and stop and go traffic ... don't see any way to get to 12 mpg.
